Jayden's Dev-Log 07


I went back to working on all my assets this week and had made a bunch of high poly models for assets that will be used by the player or that will be looked at by the player up close, such as the Fuel Cell, the generator and the Lift.

I started texturing this week and started with the main asset items such as the elevator, power cell and the Engines. Once I had finished those I began to work on all the prop assets, starting with the crates and barrels. The only trouble I had this week was with the textures because I wasn’t making good enough high poly meshes for my canisters and barrels, I found that the mesh would have trouble with the smooth tool option in Maya. 

So I decided on splitting the mesh apart to fix all the needless edges on everything to cause the sharp edges on the barrel sides to no longer be there, I wish I had done this sooner because it took me a while to come to this point and wasted needless time on other solutions until now.

  • High poly assets made
  • Texturing for most of the assets done
  • Voice work done for the game
